PEI Holiday Gift Guide

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us once again, and that Christmas is only a few weeks away. With this time of year comes joy, excitement and fun, but can also mean stress and worry. Trying to find the perfect gifts for your loved ones can be quite a feat. But it doesn’t have to cause undue anxiety!

PEI has so much to offer in terms of unique products. From art to food, there is something for everyone on your list. We have compiled a list of some things we love to give you some inspiration and hopefully ease some of your last-minute shopping stress.

  1. Canada’s Food Island gift card
Canada’s Food Island Gift Card

One card, many uses. That’s the magic of the Canada’s Food Island gift card! The cards are available in increments of $50 and can be used at over 300 merchants across PEI. These include restaurants, retail locations, accommodations, and more. It’s the perfect gift that allows someone to use it for the place they love. Gift cards can be purchased online at https://peigiftcard.ca/ or at Mel’s Convenience, Murphy’s Pharmacies, and the Co-Op in Tignish, O’Leary and Souris.

  1. Scenic photos of PEI

What better way to showcase your love of PEI than by putting up a stunning photo of your favourite Island location? The talented Stephanie of the Redhead Roamer photographs PEI from tip to tip and sells her prints in her Etsy shop. From aerial views of teacup rock (a favourite of many campers), to detailed shots of old lighthouses, Stephanie covers it all. Purchases can be made on Etsy.

  1. Pottery

PEI has no shortage of incredibly talented potters, who make everything from dishware to decor and more. One wonderful thing about pottery is that each piece is special and unique and handmade with love. Who doesn’t love a big cup of coffee in a beautifully made pottery mug? That sounds pretty cozy to us! We are big fans of Redrocks Pottery’s fox mugs. Each mug is completely original and unique and even comes with its own name. Check them out on Instagram or Facebook! (PS: Redrocks also has a great shop called The Den located at the Bedeque Schoolhouse, where they sell a variety of fantastic locally made products).

  1. Local Wine, Beer & Spirits

Did you know that PEI has many fantastic breweries, wineries and distilleries? Each one has its own style and products to love, depending on your personal preferences. From beer to wine to cider to even PEI shine, there is something for everyone’s palette. Or, if you prefer a non-alcoholic option, you can find that, too! In fact, Upstreet Craft Brewing has found great success with their very popular Libra, non-alcoholic craft beer.

  1. Confederation Bridge or Northumberland Ferries passes

Help someone make their way to PEI this Christmas! After two years of limited travel to the Island, we’re sure that this summer will be a busy one. There are many people wanting to make their way to the Island and take in all the beauty and fun a PEI summer has to offer. Lend a hand by providing them with a pass to get here! Both the Confederation Bridge and Northumberland Ferries have the option to purchase gift cards for tolls. Confederation Bridge passes can be purchased online or at a number of retail locations. Northumberland Ferry passes can be purchased by calling 1-902-626-2550.

  1. Tickets for a Show

PEI has a robust and thriving arts and entertainment scene. The many theatres across the Island, both big and small, have some incredible and captivating shows that are certainly worth checking out. Go classic with Anne of Green Gables: The Musical at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, or enjoy a show by a local musician at the Trailside Music Hall or Indian River Festival. Whether you prefer plays or musical performances, there is sure to be the ideal show for you!

There are many wonderful PEI-centric gift options available for all your holiday shopping needs. The Island is full of talented artisans, entrepreneurs, creators and more, all with their own unique goods and services. There’s truly something for everyone!

For more local PEI gift options, check out Love Local PEI. This online directory lists a variety of Island businesses, across several different industries, and includes info on what they offer and where to find them. It’s your one-stop guide for all things shopping local on PEI.

We hope this gives you some inspiration this holiday season. Whether you are shopping for a loved one or just want to treat yourself (that’s okay, too!), you are sure to find the perfect thing. If you have other suggestions not mentioned on this list, please let us know in the comments. Happy Holidays!
